Toy Company

Students are upper level managers in a toy company. Mrs. Loopstra is the CEO.

The class creates a company name, mission statement, logo and motto for a new toy company.

They develop prototypes of toys - a plush and a model - that reflect the company ideals.

Students will apply creative and imaginative thinking to a “real world” setting.

Descriptive and persuasive writing and skills will be emphasized.

MEDIA/TECHNOLOGY

Media is a product that communicates a message to an audience.  Technology is an invention that changes the way human beings live and work.  This elective explores the convergence of these two human endeavors using both low tech and high tech materials and methods including post-it notes, pencil and paper, animation software, programming languages, presentation software, and digital cameras.  Students are encouraged to develop a project to share at the end of the semester.
